I just had to share with you all the one product that cured my daughter’s cradle cap or cradle crap as I often called it. You will not believe what it was. We tried everything from olive and coconut oil to dandruff shampoo. I am all about using things that are all natural but I was so desperate that I followed my pediatrician’s recommendation and used Selsun Blue shampoo. But that didn’t stop her scalp from being covered in dry flaky cradle crap. To make it worse, my daughter learned to scratch and despite our efforts to keep her hands out of it, her scalp started to bleed.

I happened to mention my frustration to my mother, and she recommended Bag Balm. I think she had mentioned it before but I had disregarded it for some reason.

“Get the Bag Balm. I used it for everything with your brother–diaper rash, cradle cap, EVERYTHING,” she told me. “Bag Balm. Get the Bag Balm.” She kept repeating it like she wanted the alliteration to ring in my ears.

Out of pure desperation we bought a container of it from CVS for $12. I was even more skeptical when I read the label and found that it’s main use was for cows.  And I know you are thinking, “What kind of a mother puts a product for cows on her baby’s head?” I thought the same thing.. But I researched it and found that others had used Bag Balm and it worked for them.

I am happy to tell you that after using Bag Balm my daughter is free of the cradle crap! Praise the Lord! It has been 3 months and we have not had any more problems. Now if we could only get rid of her eczema.

Does your child have cradle cap? Did you use Bag Balm? If not, what products did you find to be most helpful?
